UNC Basketball: Tar Heels receive votes in USA Today Coaches Poll – Tar Heels Wire

The UNC basketball program is still on the outside looking in when it comes to the top 25 rankings.
On Monday, the updated USA Today Coaches Poll was released, and the Tar Heels remained unranked. The Tar Heels were among the teams receiving votes category with nine votes.
UNC is coming off an 80-69 win over NC State, its 14th win of the season. Overall, the Tar Heels are 14-6 and 6-3 in the ACC.
After losing four in a row from Nov. 25 to Dec. 4, the Tar Heels have gone 9-2 in the 11 games since, including three wins in a row.
North Carolina also remains unranked in the AP Top 25, receiving 12 votes. ACC programs that were ranked are Virginia (No. 6), Miami (No. 19), Clemson (No. 23) and Duke (No. 25).
Joining UNC in the others receiving votes category were NC State (13 votes) and Wake Forest (2 votes).
North Carolina goes on the road to Syracuse on Tuesday and then has the weekend off before returning to the floor next Wednesday against Pitt — a team that beat the Tar Heels earlier this season.
